Build the Future of Finance
Leading in Banking
The way banks operate is undergoing a radical transformation. New skills, approaches, and mindsets are required, not just in IT but – more importantly – across all functions and levels of the bank. A completely new strategy is essential.
Regulatory issues, digitalization, sustainability, as well as uncertain interest rate developments – in face of high inflation and the economic consequences of various crises – present modern finance with enormous challenges.
For a financial institution’s success, a comprehensive, high-quality management system is still essential. This includes successful sales, an efficient structure of Organization and IT, combined with profitable use of all variants of artificial intelligence, continuous engagement with financial innovations, as well as the constant improvement of all control systems, and other success drivers.
Leading in Banking means being able to intricately interweave successful sales strategies, regulatory restrictions, and economic management philosophies in the fast-paced digital world. This applies not only to traditional financial institutions. Fintechs, insurtechs, or the finance departments of companies also need to position themselves accordingly.
This is the origin of zeb, founded by Professors Rolfes and Schierenbeck. The authors Schierenbeck, Lister, and Kirmße, with their famous book “Ertragsorientiertes Bankmanagement”, represent the state of the art in bank controlling. The zeb.business school embodies a comprehensive concept for research and education based on all these drivers of modern banking.
What to expect
For a career in leadership positions you need to understand the management of banks, insurance companies, or financial departments of companies, fintechs, or insurtechs. You will learn to make entrepreneurial decisions and solve business problems. You need competencies to make strategically sound decisions about the profitability and risk of your company. For this our Master in Banking offers a wide range of alternative modules that go far beyond controlling, including key aspects of Digital Finance, Sustainable Finance or Wealth Management.
